About

Matt joined IEM as the firm’s Financial Planning Services Manager, where he supports the advisory team and assists in developing comprehensive financial planning strategies and processes. With his thoughtful and analytical approach, Matt enjoys translating complex financial concepts into practical strategies. He believes that meaningful financial planning goes beyond numbers and investments. At its best, it provides clarity, confidence, and a roadmap for achieving life's most important goals.

Experience and Education

Matt is a CFP® professional and maintains his Series 65 license. Prior to stepping into his current role, Matt spent seven years working directly with clients, guiding them through the financial planning process and helping them navigate important life and financial decisions. He now works closely with advisors and firm leadership to help shape and enhance the financial planning experience behind the scenes, supporting them as they deliver thoughtful, comprehensive, and goal-driven planning strategies.

He earned his degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota. His background fostered a strong foundation in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail, skills he continues to apply in the financial planning profession.

Personal

Matt lives in Burnsville with his wife and three children. Outside of work, much of his time is spent keeping up with his busy family and enjoying the activities that come with raising three kids. When he finds an opportunity for a little time of his own, he enjoys getting out on the soccer field.
